2012 REFLECTION :( :(

Hey everyone it's Moni :) well we are now in week 9 and this is the very last post I will be writing so I just want to write some stuff I have enjoyed learning and experiencing.

My favorite thing this year was emailing my buddy in Japan it was really fun even though we didn't know each other we acted like as if we knew each other for a long time.

My other highlight was being in a REALLY AWESOME CLASS with the MOST GREATEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD!!!!. MR MARQUAND HE is really nice the sad thing is he will not be in Vardon School hes going to be teaching year 7&8 students so he won't be here all the year 6's are going to miss him heaps.

This year I actually achieved a lot I learned how to not give up and try my best even though sometimes things get tough. At the beginning of last year I was struggling in my Maths really badly. I wasn't confident at all but this year I have improved a lot, I was scared to ask questions but Mr Marquand has helped me get over my fears and I appreciate that a lot because if Mr Marquand wasn't here to help me get over my fear right now I would of not have been writing this he has helped me so much. And I just love it :)

My 6 years at Vardon School have been really exciting and challenging for me. I have enjoyed these 6 years a lot all my teachers have been awesome a lot of them have helped me heaps. I have no idea what is going to happen to me next year I am really scared that I won't be the same Moni. I will be a different person wow it's going to be tough. I hope I don't get bullied or anything like that but I will miss everyone especially one person My best friend ASHLYNNE. Shes like my sister I've been with her since she was a junior. Next year we are going to be separated and I don't like it. I feel like as if I'm not going to find any friends at intermediate. I am so scared :( I'm going to miss everyone I don't like this at all). Well I just hope my best friend Ashlynne has a good year next year well this is my last post hope you guys enjoyed reading this :(

TERM 4!!!!!!! :( :(

 Hey everyone it's Moni :) term 4 is here. Guess what this is the last term I'm staying in Vardon School as you know I'm a year 6 and next year I'm going to intermediate. I'm really nervous because I'm going to a different school that I have no idea who those people are. The worst thing is that I'm only staying in intermediate for 2 years then I'm going to Fraser High School. High School is even worse. Well anyway this term we have a lot going on. We are now in week 6 after this week we only have 3 weeks left of school. This term we are doing this thing called Year 5/6 split what we do in Year 5/6 split is that the year 6's make up a dance to show the year 5's. And the Year 5's make a present for the year 6's. The best thing about it is that the year 5's don't know what song we are dancing on and the year 6's don't know who's making a present for them it's sort of like Secret Santa. I'm so curious about who's making a present for me well this term is going to be AWESOME!!!!!!! I hope :) :)

OUR ASSEMBLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :/

Hey everyone it's Moni. On Friday it was Room 15's Assembly (my class) It was quiet scary (even though I hardly was in anything) I was scared for my friends they were really scared. My Friend BOB was not really that scared she was a little bit but in the end she was fine she did sound nervous when she was presenting her Prezi but I knew that she would get through it.Our assembly was called "Same Same But Different". Same Same But Different is a saying that they say in Thailand so it has like the same meaning as the word Synonym. In our assembly we did alot of stuff we even had a GAME SHOW it was called THE SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT GAME SHOW!!! Hosted By Bella Scout in the game show were 3 people all of them were born in different countries so these were the people Ashlynne,Sabrina, and Miko,. We also called 3 Teachers onto the stage this is how the game worked: Bella would ask the Teachers about the experts countries and the teachers would have to decide if that countrie is the same as New Zealand or are they different then the experts would say if there wrong or right. Well we had alot of fun with our assembly and sadly for the year 6's it was there last assembly and one of the yeart 6's is me :( :( :( well write to you next time :(

ATHLETICS :( :( :(

Hey everyone its Moni. This term something really terrifying is going to haunt me forever............................................................................................................................................................... What is it? you ask ATHLETICS!!!!!!!!!!! ARGHHHHH!! well it's not really that scary for most people. But for me it's the most terrifying thing in my life whats more embarrassing then people watching you jump, run and throw, I know I shouldn't be giving up so easily but it's just that it is really hard. Especially HIGH JUMP!!!!!! we are starting to practise now and it's really embarrassing especially when you jump and you drop the pole down and everyone starts laughing at you. I do not like it at all this coming week we are doing  I think the SPRINTS and I'm not sure if I can handle everyone looking at me and laughing and I'm just walking as slow as a snail. I hate this time of the year!!! Its really embarrassing I hope Mr Marquand doesn't keep on saying his dialogue otherwise I'm going to go MAD!!! Mr M's dialogue: "EVERY TIME YOU DO YOUR BEST YOUR BEST GETS A LITTLE BIT BETTER"

MY WEEKEND!!!! :)

Hey everyone it's Moni. In the weekends I went to Auckland why I went to Auckland you ask? we went to Auckland to see my aunt and uncles NEW HOUSE. It was so cool it's a 2 story house I loved it. I had a lot of fun at my aunty's house because on Saturday my other uncles came to my aunty's house and we sort of had a party :). For the whole weekend I was with my aunt. So in school Mr Marquand told us that we have to email someone we know and we have to tell the person what we are learning and so I chose my aunt I love my family especially my aunt shes sweet and nice I can't wait till I see my aunt and uncle next. FRACTIONS!! :(

Hey everyone it's Moni :). This term My Maths group Aristotle are learning about Fractions I'm really bad at fractions I get really confused with fractions. I'm going to show all of you a example like 2/3 of 12 what is the total of this problem you might be asking your self? (I know it's confusing right) if you have 12 jelly beans and then you put them in half there will be 2 groups of 12. Then if you put them in 3 groups of 12 you have to put 4 jelly beans in each jar 4+4+4= 12 and then in 2 jars there is 4 jelly beans how much would that be all together? that would be 8 so 2/3 of 12 is 8 and that is your answer I know it's confusing but you always will figure it out at the end :) so don't worry you will be fine. OLYMPICS GAMES!!!

Hey everyone as you all know the Olympic games are going on. And everyone is so busy watching the Olympics. One thing I know is when the Olympics were first held was in Greece, Athens not even woman were allowed to watch the Olympics (I know that's so unfair). Now this part is um how should I say this disturbing when the men competed in the running competition they ran naked eww yeah I know but apparently they had to do that. That's how the Modern Olympics were lucky it isn't like that right now otherwise it would be so unfair I've watched the Olympics heaps at home I know 1 person in my class that absolutely loves watching the Olympics and that is.... BOB yeah you might be thinking is that a girl or a guy just to let you know it's a girl her real name is Bailey but she likes being called BOB like how I like being called Moni Bob loves watching the running and I do as well. My favourite sport in the Olympic sport is Weightlifting ,Gymnastics , Running , and more. The main thing about the Olympics is to push yourself and try your best every time just like Mr Marquand says "Everytime you try your best your best gets a little bit better"

just like Valarie Adams even if she didn't get a Gold Medal she tried her best in every thing and she didn't give up I look up to her when it comes to sport. Well I hope all of you enjoy this post :)

KALEISCOPE ART!!!!!

Heeeeey Everyone it's Moni. Well you might be wondering what kind of art is this?. This Art is called Kaleidscope this art is all got to do with Reflection and Rotation what do these 2 words mean? you might be thinking?.Rotation means: Your turning a object around. Reflection Means: you know when you look in the mirror and you see your self that's what you call a Reflection :). So on Friday we did some art it was confusing but fun because we had to try and make a pattern we had to choose a picture and we had to cut it out like extra carefully. we had to turn it and make it look like our master piece it was really hard because I didn't understand it but I had to go with it I was really confused because I couldn't really know how to make a pattern. But at the end Mr Marquand came and helped me one thing I got extra confused with the way you turn and make it into a pattern. Well even if it was hard it was sort of fun I have never in my whole life have done this kind of art and now Mr Marquand is going to see this post and say "wow! Moni you really havn't done that well its good that you have done it now" :) well I don't really have anything to say well I hope you all enjoy this post :P :) don't forget to comment :)

TERM 3 :D

Heey everyone its Moni :) Welcome back to School we are now in Term 3. Now all of you might be thinking what is she going to say next when your reading this right? This term room 15 is learning about Excellence. And we also know that the Olympics are starting soon Mr Marquand has also told us that we are going to have to write a report of one of the Olympic sports I have a feeling I'm not going to enjoy writing a report about sports. You might be thinking but that's so easy it might be easy to you all maybe because a lot of you girls and boys know how to play sports but me I'm really bad at it when I mean by bad I mean absolutely horrible seriously when I hear that we have to run or do a sport like running kicking a soccer ball and even throwing I put on my give up face. Maybe because I'm scared I'm going to embarass myself in the end as always and everytime "I give up" Mr Marquand come and says "Moni" ALL THE TIME. Even worst cross country is coming up ! and whos going to be last Moni as always yeah why I said that maybe because um how should I say this I COME LAST EVERY YEAR ! I know I know what Mr Marquand is going to say when he is going to see this post "Moni you should still not give up!" well that's enough if I say more stuff I won't stop.

MY MATHS :)

Heeeeeeeey everyone its Moni :) . Well last week on Friday we did our timetable testing and I got 100/100 I got all of them right. Now I'm in Newton I am so proud of myself last time I had 99/100 I'm really happy now. Not just because I got 100/100 also because now that I'm in Newton I can learn new things right now Newton is learning to learn there 12x's tables. Its alot of fun being in Newton it is a little hard but I have to learn some hard stuff sometimes Mr Marquand helps me alot . Because he knows that this is the first time I'm in Newton. well gotta go don't forget to comment!

Heeeey everyone Moni here.You might be looking at my speech video. I was terified as you can see I have no idea what to say. My friend Ashlynne was smiling at me the whole time I could feel myself going red like a tamatoe. I was just so scared I wanted to run off because I was so horrified. Just think 23 or 24 eyes looking straight at you like you are a target. I don't know what I'm going to do the next time I have to do a speech M.r Marquand was saying that I'm going to be fine absolutley ok be calm I feel like I made the whole class bored because I had too much information. I don't think I did a good job with my speech well gotta go!

Hiya! everyone I'm back its Moni. Well today was challenging why? you ask because today I did assembly it was terrifying I was so scared I did it with Bhaven you might be asking why? because I am a Student Councillor as you all already know. I was really scared I could not concentrate on anything this morning all I would think about was the assembly. Mr Marquand was telling me I would be fine but I WAS NOT FINE! when it comes to speaking in front of people Oh you don't want to know what I look like my hands starts sweating and I don't know what I'm doing and I don't know what I'm saying trust me I was really scared I don't know whats going to happen when I do my speech. Today I felt like aliens were staring at me and laughing when I was doing the Assembly I will not stop thinking about that well bye!!

Heeeey everyone Moni here. So last week we started writing our speeches our topic is discovery this term so we have to write speeches about someone or something that has discovered something and we have to say it in front of the whole class. So I chose Captain Abel Tasman I am really scared of doing it in front of the class because I'm scared that I might do a mistake and the whole class will laugh at me for the whole day. I am really nervous I am going to turn bright red like a tomato even when I think about it I get so nervous this is the most biggest challenge I have ever faced ever I'm really scared I don't know what I'm going to do when I get up there burst into tears or panic and embarrass myself. I am really terrified I'm scared that everyone is going to get bored from my speech. well gotta go!! wish me luck on my speech

Who is a Leader?
A leader is someone who people look up to like Captain James Cook and the people in the ANZAC war.
What does a leader do?
A leader helps other people when they are struggling with things. A leader is someone who keeps everyone happy.
How do I know these things?
How I know these things about leadership. Maybe because I'm a leader too I'm a student councillor I enjoy being a leader because I like helping other people around me I like doing things around the school. I like representing my school. I want to be just like my sister she was a student councillor when she went to my school and then from their she went to being Head Girl at St Andrews Middle School. Heeeeey everyone its Moni. On Friday me and my class were learning about Spoonerisms it sounds like a weird word right :) you might be thinking hmmmm I wonder what that word might mean. Spoonerisms is when you say things all muddled up like how Mr Marquand showed us a example like I 'm bowing to get my gook when its ment to be I'm going to get my book. Mr Marquand showed us a website this person made it was based on this guy Shel Silverstein he wrote alot of books and he wrote alot of poems and in alot of books he put Spoonerisms. I love Shel Silverstein's
books they are really cool. I had alot of fun learning what Spoonerism is I laughed alot it was heaps of fun I hope we will learn more about Spoonerism don't forget to comment on this post byeeeeeeeeee :)

Hey everyone its Moni last week my class room 15 was learning about the word Personification you might be thinking huh?what does that word mean? Personification is for example your writing a story and your describing a tree or something and you write"the tree hit me on the neck" basically Personification means that your describing a object as if it is alive. Mr Marquand put up a poem on the interactive whiteboard and we found out what Personification ment. We had heaps of fun learning about Personification I hope we learn more stuff about Personification. I hope you enjoy this comment Moni :) :) :)

WAR REFLECTION

Hi everyone welcome back to term two. This term my class room 15 has been learning about ANZAC and the War.Some of the things I learnt are how the soliders felt beinging away from their family and how they live in the trenches.The thing I will remember most about this topic is that all the people that fought for our country and our freedom. It is important to learn about the war because later in life we are going to need this information because with this information we can maybe we can get in the war that might even happen in the future you never know. The things I don't like about war is that people die war is very sad its not a great place to be I don't like war at all M.r Marquand showed the class a YouTube footage of the Sarajevo red chairs it was really sad so many people were crying 11,541 people died in Sarajevo city. One the main person that caused war was Hitler he killed about 6 million Jewish people. 2,721 people died in the ANZAC war. In the war the soliders wrote letters to there wifes and children. The main colour of war is red because it represents blood and heaps of people died in the war.I want to find out more about what were the names of people that died in the war.War is not a good thing to be in. HOW TO MAKE A STOP MOTION!!!!!

Want to know how to make a stop motion?Read this and you will be making a stop motion in no time. A stop motion is a fun video you make with a whole lot of pictures.

The things you will need to make a stop motion: A camera, computer, tripod, editing software, or mostly known as Windows movie maker, Video Spin or iMovie.
Steps: First, plan your stop motion before you do anything else. After you have planned everything set everything up. Get your camera and put it on your tripod, then get the objects that are going to be in your stop motion. Tell the objects to make a slight movement and take a picture. Keep on doing this.

After you have done that put it on your computer then edit it on editing software. Add a little music to it. And there is your master piece stop motion. Put it on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or on your blog you will be more famous than ever.

KARAPIRO DAM REFLECTION!!!

Hi its Moni yesterday room 15 went on a trip to the Karapiro Dam one thing I learnt is that hydro means water isnt that interesting that electricity comes from water.
What surprised me about the Dam was that the penstock is about 30 meteres. And how much water goes down the Dam.One question that I have about Dams is that how long is the Dam.And can anyone climb the Dam? GLOBAL SCHOOL PROJECT EMAIL!!!!

Hello everyone its Moni welcome to 2012 this term in our class we are emailing other schools around the glob. I emailed two countries Argentina and Ghana. Why I emailed those to countries because our class wants to find out what other schools are like in diffrent countries.What I learnt in making a email and actually sending it was that its not that hard because this was my first time emailing and I thought it was going to be really confusing.I want to learn how to use it at home because I don't really know how to do it at home but I'll learn someday but its lots of fun emailing other people that you hardly know because then the people that you don't know knows you now. :) :) :) I hope you enjoy this post :)

INTRODUCING ME!!!!

Hi my name is Monisha but everyone calls me MONI I am 10 years old. I am a year 6 I have always lived in Hamilton but I have always wanted to live in London. My favourite place in Hamilton is Te Awa because I like the clothes from Temt.
My parents were born in Fiji they moved here because Mum and Dad wanted to live here for the rest of there lifes and our lifes.
One place I love to go to is Fiji because the rest of my family are there and because all of my cousins are there so I love hanging out with them.
Some things I love are music, dancing , my culture , my Family, my Friends, and movies.
This is a Collage portrait of me.to make this I had to take a picture of me and then I had to cut out pictures from magazines that describes me. You can glue your pictures on the backround or on your t-shirt if you have any gaps by your pictures then rip some coloured paper and glue it by your pictures after that glue your pictures on. After that If you have wallpaper then you can choose any then rip and glue its ok if u sort of cover your face because you will be glueing another picture on top. After you have glued another picture on get a coloured peace of paper and cut some parts of your face out. And thats your portrait
